MISS UTAH 2018

Miss Utah 2018 Pageant was one of my last projects creating video content and developing the video infrastructure design. Through the use of some inspirational photos and videos, I was able to create an assortment of moving backgrounds to be used in the production. Below, will be the raw video from the production, followed by a production photo from that part of the show.

Talent Competition

For the talent competition, I had to create a background that was elegant yet didn't draw too much attention from the talent.  Through the use of a 3d model of a crown and a particle generator, I created this asset.

A production switcher was used to blend content and live video to create the final product.

Evening Wear

For evening wear, they wanted a background that incorporated an asset with a vibrant, spring-inspired feel with a modern edge. I presented a couple of potential ideas and they decided to go with the floral falling background.

Question and Answer

For question and answer,  I wanted a simple dynamic background that was still elegant . I decided on a particle background with a revolving crown in the on the sides screens.

System Design

Miss Utah come with a challenge. They said that they wanted a better video experience then any pageant before. I decided to shift the live portion of the video on the wall depending on the event. I implemented live video on the side screens for swim and evening wear, while putting live video  on the center video wall for talent and production numbers. Below are some examples of the different layouts.

Lyric 50th

The 50th anniversary of the Lyric Repertory was this past summer and Bruce came to me with the idea of having a street party to celebrate. With the tight time constraints during which the street could be closed, building the stage on the street would not be a option. I decided the best option would be to build the stage in a parking lot off to the side of the street and then move it into place when the street was able to close. I coordinated all of the gear and content needed to put on this event. I also assisted in video mapping the outside of the theater.

FACEBOOK

I was approached to provide content for a Facebook event. This event was being  held in Salt Lake Utah at the Depot. There was a screen display expo being held that week and this event was centered around this expo.  I was asked to coordinate content to be mixed live to the music from the dj for the event.
